Chapter 8
Cleopatra, Salome & Joan of Arc
“Rama, Rama,
have you met the three sisters
Across the road
Next to the cedar grove?”
“ Three sisters?
How fine!
Are they playful?
Are they beautiful?
Are they divine?”
“ Well, Rama!
They are all in their ninth lives
By now
Believe it or not
One used to be Cleopatra
One used to be Salome
One used be Joan of Arc
They said these names were
sublime
In the history of human’s big time.
They were some sort of heroines
Of human kind”
“P’taah,
You are getting around
How did you get involved with
these heroic
Ladies Royal
Big Time
Felines?”
“ I have no idea, Rama!
This morning while you were dreaming
They came to our window meowing
They said
Are you P’taah? The little brother of Rama?
Dare you both come over for a meal?
After the meal
Shall we discuss
A deal?
I said--
A Meal and a Deal
With whom?
Can you tell?
They then told me who they were
In the history of
Human’s big time
P’taah, my brother!
Why do these ladies of Royal bloodline
in their ninth lives
want to share a meal
with boys like us
in our first lives as felines?
Were they really
what
they said
they were
in the history of human’s
Big Time?
Rama!
Truth or falsehood
Let it be known
Dare, dare, shall we dare
To tread where Angels
dare not to tread?
Three sister felines
Held the names of
Human’s Big Time
To Be or Not To Be
Let It Be
We Shall See
Across the road
Next to the cedar grove
P’taah and I greeted those three sisters
Royal felines
Sublime
Cleopatra wore the tiger stripes
Long whiskers and long hair
Behind her golden eyelids
She x-rayed us with
her glistening green eyes
You can tell
I x-rayed her as well
Salome wore a black mask that covered both eyes
The rest of her garment was snowy white
Her feet seemed never to touch the ground
Her long tail moved like a snow dragon
flying from side to side
Joan of Arc had her paws armed with
ultra
sharp claws
On her forehead
A moon shaped scar
On her spine
A mark of the burning stake
Her orange ears were ultra pointy
That matched well with her red hair
They sat around the cedar grove
like three statues
Triple Goddesses
inside a cove
Cleopatra faced the East
Salome faced the South
Joan of Arc faced the North
P’taah and I walked in from the East
faced the West
A circle began to form …
“ Maybe they are for real
How do you feel?”
P’taah talked in silence
From his mind to mine
“ Real or not real
This is not an easy meal
I don’t quite know how I feel
Something in the air
is hard to deal”
I meowed in silence from my mind
To his mind
While greeting those
Age old
Three sisters
Royal Felines
from
Human’s
Big Time
“Ladies, royal felines
I, Rama and my brother P’taah
Wish you all
A day of earthly delight”
I learned this manner
From my human’s movie screen
If they were what they said they were
They surely would appreciate
this kind of fine manner
from
some
Self-taught
Highly educated
Fine Felines
Salome jumped
like a bird
Circling the cedar grove
weightlessly
like the wind
Slowly she wrapped her tail
around herself
Like a temple dancer draped with veils
One single glance
eclipsed
a thousand poems
She gave us her elegant
front paws
to kiss
Oh, Salome
how sublime
The world awaits your next dance …
To shake the ground
To unveil the divine…
Cleopatra clapped her paws
Then tapped her big, black, puffy tail
Three paw-maidens in black, yellow and white
brought us the first
fine dish
A Turkish Mouse Delight
The feast then began …
Followed by Japanese raw fish
We drank the finest wine
Made from the oldest berry trees
from another time
Cleopatra had traveled a great deal
in her illustrious nine lifetimes
She told us the stories from another land
And the histories in
Different timelines
What a queen!
Wise and keen!
In dining with these great minds
We forgot about
real time
Cleopatra was like a Great Mother
Salome was like a dear sister
We were not sure about
Joan of Arc
She neither said a single word to us
Nor sang
Nor danced
Nor drank the wine
She was a different kind
Foe or friend
Should we fend?
“Here comes the Voice”
She announced with her claws
Calmly moving in and out of
her calm paws
No sign, no warning
Her paws calmly removed our meal
Her tail calmly swept away
The last piece of the
Japanese sushi eel
Her moon shaped scar calmly rested
above her fiery eyes
“ I heard the Voice”
She said
“You two shall be my knights
Together
We shall save this land
For the glory of God
Follow your call
For you are the chosen ones
So am I”
She heard the voice?
What’s the big deal?
P’taah and I hear the voice
More than often
As well
I now see
Oh, P’taah,
There is no free meal
In the name of God
They want us to defend
To save our land
As God-sent
We have to run!
Away and Far
As fast as we can
Let someone else be
the chosen ones
You and I
Be gone
So long
Cleopatra, Salome and Joan of Arc
Now on their four paws
Tails pointing to the sun
Cornered us around
“This is the finest cause and the finest deal
We have tales to tell
Someone called Henry the Fifth
Might bring about death
Boys like you need some ordeals
Time shall heal”
Those tales were long and complex
P’taah and I were still not sure
Who was who,
What was what
Except to know
Tomorrow
We shall fight Henry the Fifth
To fend off death
The cost of a great meal
Is this kind of ordeal
A real big deal!
This is the beginning of our entanglement
With the three sisters
Royal Felines
Big Time
